Terms of sale

Terms of Sale – version of 4 October 2026.

These Terms of Sale (the "Terms") apply to every order placed on satello.io. They exist in French and English. For consumers living in France, the French version is the legally binding one. If you live in another country, you may rely on either version; if they differ, the meaning more favourable to the consumer applies.

1. Who we are

Satello is the trading name of a French sole trader (entrepreneur individuel). You can reach us through our support page at satello.io/support.

In these Terms, "Satello", "we" and "us" mean this trader; "you" means the person placing the order.

To order, you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and able to enter into a contract. These Terms are written mainly for consumers. If you buy for business purposes, the consumer-only provisions (right of withdrawal, consumer mediation) don't apply to you, except where the law extends them to micro and small businesses.

2. What you buy

An eSIM is a digital SIM card that you download onto a compatible device instead of inserting a physical card. When you order on Satello, you pay one total price for:

  • an eSIM data plan, issued by Cryptorefills (section 5): an eSIM profile, delivered as a QR code and installation codes, giving mobile internet access (data) in the plan's destination or destinations, with the data allowance and validity period given with the plan;
  • the Satello service: we order the eSIM from Cryptorefills for you, pay Cryptorefills, hold your payment in the checkout contract until delivery, deliver the eSIM to your order page and help you if something goes wrong.

Plans are data only. They don't come with a phone number, calls or SMS, unless the plan page expressly says otherwise. You can use internet-based apps (messaging, internet calls) within your data allowance, subject to local law and network conditions.

A Satello plan cannot be used to call emergency services (112 or any other emergency number). Keep another way of calling for help while you travel.

Your usual SIM card (or main eSIM) stays on your device. Depending on your settings, it may keep receiving calls and SMS, and your usual operator may charge you roaming fees if data roaming stays switched on for that line. Those charges are a matter between you and your usual operator.

3. Device compatibility

Before buying, check that your device:

  • supports eSIM;
  • is carrier-unlocked, meaning it accepts SIM cards from any operator.

Our compatibility checker and device list are a guide based on manufacturers' information. Some models sold in certain countries, or locked by an operator, don't support eSIM even though the model usually does. Check before you pay: an eSIM delivered for an incompatible or locked device isn't faulty, and it can't be refunded once delivered (section 11).

4. Destinations, networks and speeds

Each plan states the destinations covered, the data allowance and the validity period. The eSIM connects to local partner networks chosen by the issuer. Satello doesn't choose these networks and doesn't know in advance which network, network technology (for example 4G or 5G) or speed you'll get, so we don't promise any of them. Sharing your phone's connection (personal hotspot) may or may not work, depending on the network.

Coverage and speed depend on where you are (inside buildings, underground, rural areas), how busy the network is, your device and the local operator's practices. If no partner network works in a covered destination, sections 12 and 13 apply.

Satello is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Cryptorefills or any mobile network operator; their names and trademarks belong to them.

5. How your order is placed: Cryptorefills

Satello doesn't issue eSIMs. When you order, you instruct us to buy the eSIM plan you chose, on your behalf and in your name, from Cryptorefills (cryptorefills.com), a store for gift cards, phone recharges and eSIMs paid in crypto, operating since 2018. To do this:

  • we place the order with Cryptorefills in your name, using the email address you give at checkout;
  • we pay Cryptorefills the eSIM price ourselves, from our own funds, in USDC on the Base network;
  • we deliver the eSIM on your order page, and Cryptorefills also sends it to your email address.

The eSIM plan is issued by Cryptorefills under its own terms, available on cryptorefills.com, and the connection is provided by its local partner networks. Our own service is ordering the eSIM and handling the payment, delivery, refunds and support described in these Terms. Under article L221-15 of the French Consumer Code, we're fully responsible to you for the proper performance of that service, whether we carry it out ourselves or through other providers, without prejudice to our own recourse against them.

6. Prices

  • Prices are set in US dollars (USD). You pay in USDG, a dollar-pegged stablecoin, on the Robinhood Chain blockchain, at 1 USDG for each 1 USD of price.
  • You can also pay with ETH or with one of the stock tokens listed at checkout. In that case the checkout contract swaps, on Uniswap and within your own payment transaction, just enough of it for exactly the USDG price, and sends the rest back to your wallet. The swap happens at the market rate of that moment; your wallet shows the most it may spend before you confirm. What the contract holds for your order is always USDG, and any refund is made in USDG.
  • The price shown is one total: Cryptorefills' price for the eSIM plus Satello's service fee.
  • For your information, we also show an approximate amount in euros, converted at a recent reference exchange rate. The amount you actually pay is the USDG amount shown at checkout.
  • Holders of $SATELLO may get a lower price with a Satello card (section 7). The price that applies to you is shown in the quote, before you pay anything.
  • The total covers everything you pay for the order: no activation fee, no subscription, no later billing. VAT: "TVA non applicable, art. 293 B du CGI" (the trader is under the French VAT franchise scheme, so no VAT is charged).
  • Your wallet charges a small network fee ("gas") to send the transaction on Robinhood Chain. That fee goes to the network, not to Satello, and your wallet shows it before you confirm. The cost of your own internet connection stays with you.
  • We may change our prices at any time; the price in your quote is the price of your order.

7. Satello cards and paying with $SATELLO

Satello cards are membership levels, not payment cards. Depending on the $SATELLO the paying wallet holds when you request your quote, one of these cards applies to the order: Plus (5% off the price), Premium (10% off) or Metal (Cryptorefills' price plus 0.10 USD for the transfer, with no service fee). The thresholds are published on the Satello cards page (satello.io/cards). We read the wallet's balance on the blockchain when the quote is made; a price never goes below Cryptorefills' price plus 0.10 USD.

If paying in $SATELLO is offered at checkout, you pay at the rate shown in the quote, and the share of $SATELLO burned, meaning permanently removed from circulation, is stated in the quote before you pay. If a refund is due on an order paid in $SATELLO, we return the same number of $SATELLO to the paying wallet, including the burned part, unless you expressly accept a refund in USDG instead.

You don't need $SATELLO to use Satello. The $SATELLO token page explains what the token is and what it isn't.

8. Placing an order

  1. Choose a plan and check its details: destinations, data allowance, validity, price and whether your device is compatible.
  2. Enter the email address your eSIM should be sent to. We use it to place the order with Cryptorefills in your name.
  3. Connect your own wallet. Satello never holds your funds or your keys and will never ask for your recovery phrase.
  4. Request a quote. The checkout screen shows the plan, the total price in USDG with its breakdown (and the approximate amount in euros), the contract summary for the plan, these Terms and the withdrawal information. You can go back and correct your order before paying.
  5. Tick the box asking for immediate delivery and acknowledging that you lose your right of withdrawal once the eSIM is delivered (section 11), and accept these Terms.
  6. Click the "Order with obligation to pay" button, then confirm the transaction in your wallet. The payment is deposited into the Satello checkout smart contract on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663), at address 0x535Fd4563AcE0ee27ca050a17D59Db01d32E08fb.
  7. The contract is concluded once your payment transaction is confirmed on the blockchain. We acknowledge your order on your order page and by email.
  8. We place your order with Cryptorefills and deliver your eSIM (QR code, installation codes and, when available, one-tap installation links) on your order page, usually within a couple of minutes. Cryptorefills also emails the eSIM to you.

Confirmation on a durable medium. Your order page holds the order confirmation, with your request for immediate delivery and your acknowledgement that you lose the right of withdrawal, and links to these Terms and the contract summary. Use "Save receipt (PDF)" on that page to keep a copy; we recommend you do. Cryptorefills also emails you the eSIM.

We may refuse or cancel an order before delivery if the plan is no longer available, if Cryptorefills refuses or can't fulfil the order, if there's an obvious pricing error, or if we have serious reasons to suspect fraud or a breach of international sanctions. In that case we refund you in full, automatically.

We keep a record of your order for ten years and give you access to it whenever you ask (articles L213-1 and D213-2 of the Consumer Code). The contract can be concluded in French or in English.

9. Delivery and the 30-minute guarantee

Your payment is held by the checkout contract; it isn't paid to us directly. It's released to Satello's operating wallet only when we record on the blockchain that your eSIM has been delivered, meaning made available on your order page.

If your eSIM hasn't been delivered within 30 minutes of your payment, you can take back your full payment yourself, directly from the contract, without asking us: open your order page, click "Reclaim my payment" and confirm the transaction in your wallet. That transaction costs a small network fee, which you pay to the network. The funds go back to the wallet that paid. Once you've reclaimed the payment, the order is cancelled and can no longer be delivered.

You don't have to use this function. If delivery fails, you can simply contact us and we'll refund you from the contract ourselves, at no cost to you. We also refund automatically any order we can't fulfil.

The contract only accepts payments made through the Satello checkout. Funds sent to the contract or to us outside the checkout (a direct transfer, the wrong token, another network) may not be recoverable automatically; contact us and we'll do our best to return them.

10. Installation and validity

  • Installation. Install the eSIM on your device with the QR code or installation codes within 90 days of purchase. After that, it may expire and no longer be installable.
  • Validity. The data allowance and validity period are given with each plan. The plan ends when the validity period is over or the data is used up, whichever comes first. When the validity starts can depend on the plan and the network, so install the eSIM shortly before you travel.
  • One device. An eSIM can be installed on one device only and can't be moved to another device.
  • Reinstalling. Don't delete the eSIM from your device while your plan is running. A deleted eSIM usually can't be reinstalled, and we can't guarantee that it can. Contact us before trying.
  • Keep your QR code private. Anyone who scans it before you can install your eSIM.
  • More data. eSIMs bought through Satello can't be topped up. If you need more data, buy a new plan; it comes with its own eSIM.

Your phone shows how much data you've used in its mobile data settings. Satello doesn't track your usage.

11. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

11.1 You lose the right of withdrawal once your eSIM is delivered

As a consumer, you normally have 14 days from the conclusion of a distance contract to withdraw from it without giving any reason (article L221-18 of the French Consumer Code). This right ends once your eSIM has been delivered: the eSIM is digital content not supplied on a physical medium, and we deliver it at your express request within minutes of your payment (article L221-28, 13° of the Consumer Code; article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU). Our ordering service is then fully performed as well (article L221-28, 1°).

At checkout you therefore tick a box by which you make the following request and acknowledgement. You can't pay without ticking it:

"I ask Satello to order my eSIM and deliver it immediately, before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period. I acknowledge that I will lose my right of withdrawal once my eSIM has been delivered."

We confirm your request and your acknowledgement on a durable medium, with your order confirmation (section 8).

11.2 Before delivery: cancelling your order

Until your eSIM is delivered, you keep your right of withdrawal. To exercise it, you must inform us (Satello, through our support page at satello.io/support) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement, for example a message sent through that page. You may use the model withdrawal form at the end of these Terms, but it isn't obligatory. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes, so the support page is the fastest way.

If you send your statement before your eSIM is delivered, we cancel the order and reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which we're informed of your decision. We use the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction (USDG, or $SATELLO if you paid that way, to the wallet that paid; an order paid with ETH or a stock token is refunded in USDG, the currency held for it, as accepted at checkout), unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you won't incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.

If your eSIM hasn't been delivered within 30 minutes of your payment, you can also take your payment back yourself from the contract (section 9).

These rules come from articles L221-18 to L221-28 of the French Consumer Code.

12. Refunds

Our Refund & Cancellation policy sets out every case. In short:

  • eSIM not delivered within 30 minutes: take your payment back yourself from the contract, or ask us to (section 9).
  • order failed or refused (for example, Cryptorefills couldn't issue the eSIM): we refund you in full, automatically.
  • order cancelled before delivery: full refund (section 11.2).
  • faulty eSIM: if the eSIM can't be installed, or won't connect in a covered destination with a compatible, carrier-unlocked and correctly set-up device, we help you troubleshoot and contact Cryptorefills for you. If the problem can't be fixed, we refund you in full.
  • after delivery, in every other case (eSIM not installed, change of plans, incompatible or locked device, eSIM deleted, data or days left unused when the plan ends): no refund, except where the law provides for one.

Refunds are paid to the wallet that paid, in the same token, at no cost to you, no later than 14 days after they become due and usually much sooner.

13. If the service doesn't work as agreed: your legal rights

We must provide our service as described in the contract. If we don't, you can, under articles 1217 et seq. of the French Civil Code, require performance, obtain a price reduction, end the contract and be refunded, and claim compensation for the harm suffered.

Our commitment on faulty eSIMs (section 12) comes on top of these rights and of the legal guarantees below: if an eSIM we deliver doesn't work and the problem can't be fixed, we refund you, even if the fault lies with Cryptorefills or a network.

The eSIM profile we deliver is digital content. To the extent it falls within articles L224-25-1 et seq. of the Consumer Code, you benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity summarised below. The trader answerable for this guarantee is Satello, which you can reach through our support page at satello.io/support.

The consumer has two years from the supply of the digital content or digital service to obtain the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears. For one year from the date of supply, the consumer only has to establish the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it appeared.

The legal guarantee of conformity includes the obligation to supply all updates necessary to keep the digital content or digital service in conformity.

The legal guarantee of conformity entitles the consumer to have the digital content or digital service brought into conformity without undue delay following the request, free of charge and without major inconvenience.

The consumer may obtain a price reduction while keeping the digital content or digital service, or may end the contract and obtain a full refund in exchange for giving up the digital content or digital service, if:

  1. the trader refuses to bring the digital content or digital service into conformity;
  2. bringing the digital content or digital service into conformity is unjustifiably delayed;
  3. the digital content or digital service cannot be brought into conformity without costs being imposed on the consumer;
  4. bringing the digital content or digital service into conformity causes major inconvenience to the consumer;
  5. the lack of conformity persists despite the trader's unsuccessful attempt to bring it into conformity.

The consumer is also entitled to a price reduction or to terminate the contract where the lack of conformity is so serious that it justifies an immediate price reduction or termination. The consumer is then not required to ask first for the digital content or digital service to be brought into conformity.

Where the lack of conformity is minor, the consumer is only entitled to cancel the contract if the contract does not provide for the payment of a price.

Any period during which the digital content or digital service is unavailable while being brought back into conformity suspends the remaining guarantee period until the digital content or digital service is supplied again in conformity.

These rights result from articles L224-25-1 to L224-25-31 of the Consumer Code.

A trader who in bad faith obstructs the implementation of the legal guarantee of conformity is liable to a civil fine of up to 300,000 euros, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (article L242-18-1 of the Consumer Code).

The consumer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects under articles 1641 to 1649 of the Civil Code, for two years from the discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles the consumer to a price reduction if the digital content or digital service is kept, or to a full refund in exchange for giving it up.

14. Fair use and prohibited uses

Plans are meant for personal use by travellers, in a smartphone, tablet or similar personal device. Your use of the eSIM is also subject to Cryptorefills' terms and to the rules of the local networks.

You may not:

  • use the eSIM in a router, modem, dedicated hotspot device, connected or machine-to-machine equipment, or SIM box;
  • resell, rent out or share the plan commercially;
  • use the plan permanently in one country in a way that doesn't match travel, or generate traffic that's abnormal for personal use (for example very high, continuous volumes over short periods);
  • use the service for anything unlawful, including fraud, spam, attacks on networks or systems, or infringing other people's rights;
  • pay with funds that aren't yours or that come from unlawful activity, or use the service in breach of applicable international sanctions.

If an eSIM is used in breach of this section or of the issuer's terms, the issuer or the network may slow it down, restrict or suspend it. A suspension caused by your own use doesn't entitle you to a refund. If a suspension isn't your doing, the faulty-eSIM rule in section 12 applies.

15. Liability

We're responsible for the proper performance of the contract (section 5). We're not liable where the failure is attributable to you (for example an incompatible or locked device, wrong settings, deleting the eSIM), to the unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party to the contract, or to force majeure (article L221-15 of the Consumer Code and article 1218 of the Civil Code). Mobile coverage is never complete: no signal in a place the networks don't cover (inside some buildings, underground, at sea, in flight, remote areas) isn't a failure of the service, as long as the eSIM works where the partner networks provide coverage.

Where we're liable, we compensate the foreseeable harm that is the immediate and direct consequence of our failure (articles 1231-3 and 1231-4 of the Civil Code). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantees, or our liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or personal injury.

You're responsible for your wallet, keys and devices. A blockchain transaction can't be reversed: check the amount and the address before confirming. We'll never ask for your recovery phrase or private key.

16. Personal data

To provide the service, we process your email address, which we pass to Cryptorefills so it can issue your eSIM in your name and send it to you; your wallet address and payment transactions (public by nature on the blockchain); your order details; your eSIM details (QR code and installation codes); and your IP address and approximate country for fraud prevention and tax records. Cryptorefills receives only your email address and the plan ordered, and handles them under its own privacy policy. Details, retention periods and your rights are in our Privacy Policy.

17. Complaints and mediation

For any complaint, first write to us through our support page at satello.io/support, with your order number. We answer every complaint within 7 days.

A consumer mediation service will be indicated here once appointed (articles L612-1 et seq. of the Consumer Code). You may also bring the dispute before the competent courts (section 18). If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre France (www.europe-consommateurs.eu) can help with a cross-border dispute.

The compensation provided for in article L224-42-1 of the Consumer Code (delay or loss when porting a phone number, missed installation appointment) doesn't concern this data service, which has no phone number and no on-site installation.

18. Applicable law and courts

These Terms are governed by French law. If you're a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence (article 6 of Regulation (EC) No 593/2008, "Rome I"). In case of doubt, the Terms are interpreted in the way most favourable to the consumer (article L211-1 of the Consumer Code).

As a consumer, you may bring proceedings, at your choice, before any court with territorial jurisdiction under the French Code of Civil Procedure or before the court of the place where you lived when the contract was concluded or when the harmful event occurred (article R631-3 of the Consumer Code). If you live in another EU country, you may also bring proceedings before the courts of your country of residence (article 18 of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012). Going to mediation first is optional.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. The version you accept at checkout applies to your order; later changes don't apply to plans already bought.

20. Contract summary

Before you pay, the checkout shows the contract summary for your plan, in the EU format (article 102 of Directive (EU) 2018/1972 and article L224-27 of the Consumer Code). The contract takes effect when you confirm your order after receiving this summary, which forms part of the contract. A general version of the summary is available at any time.
